We had met years earlier but reconnected when I moved back to the valley. He wouldn’t pick me up at my parents’ house when we first started dating because he was scared of my dad. Turns out they get along great now and probably like each other more than they like me! I realized I was in love with him when he got a job out of town. He was worth the effort of working through the hardship of being apart. He proposed to me at the Barron Canyon in Algonquin Park. – Ashley
