Casual Cottage Wedding in the Pontiac
Oh man. I love backyard weddings and this was one of my favs! Ali & Pat are not only the sweetest couple but they’re also super chill and just wanted to have a casual wedding at their cottage in the Pontiac where their friends and family could relax and enjoy the day. Yas to barefoot brides, lawn games, camp fires and beach ceremonies with dogs!
We really want to create an intimate setting for our family and closest friends to all come together and celebrate not only our love but also how fortunate we all are to be surrounded by such love and support from all of them.

We met in April 2014 at the Heart and Crown on Preston St. in Ottawa. On our first date we quickly realized how many friends we had in common and funny life connections – Our mothers worked together, Ali went to high school with Pats good pals, and of course the connection to the Ottawa river where we’re getting married. Ali grew up at a cottage on Fort William beach and Pat’s family built their cottage 20 minutes down the road. Pat proposed on a nice winter dog walk at the cottage. It was a beautiful sunny winters day and the proposal was simple, sweet and very “us”.

These guys are too awesome! Playing rock, paper, scissors to determine who says their vows first.
Having the ceremony and reception in a place (the Pontiac!) that is so close to both of our hearts was very important to us. We wanted a relaxed and casual cottage vibe with some vintage and boho flair. A lot of the decor and design has history and stories. Ali spent lots of time collecting vintage glassware and tableware from family, friends, thrift stores and Kijiji.
