Kip has been best friends with my brother since a very young age… around 5 when they started playing hockey together. Kip was always around but became a ‘protective big brother type of friend’. In 2010 when my brother was living in Calgary, one of my friends, knowing I always had a bit of a crush on Kip, gave him my phone number outside of a Pizzaria one night. After that Kip had to break the news to my brother on a long road trip back from Calgary, the rest is history!

Kip placed the engagement ring underneath my pillow one night. As we were getting ready for bed he kept talking about the toothfairy. I had NO idea what he was rambling on about. When I went to pull the covers out from under the pillow, I felt the box, and automatically knew what it was. I started laughing hysterically then cried as he proceeded with a bit of a “speech”. We stayed up drinking wine until 4am that day – both having to teach in just a few short hours!
