I first met Ashley & Neil at their engagement session on a rainy day at the Shaw Woods Outdoor Education Centre in Eganville. I wasn’t sure if they’d be up for hiking in the rain but luckily they were and we got some pretty steamy shots! They were super easy-going and so comfortable with each other and in front of the camera. As the month passed, Ashley and I discussed wedding day details and I knew this was going to be one epic wedding!

Our dream was to have a romantic, minimalist, outdoor wedding with candles, wooden signs, and greenery in abundance and pinks/purples accented with earth tones.

We had met years earlier but reconnected on social media when I moved back to the valley. He wouldn’t pick me up at my parents’ house when we first started dating because he was scared of my dad. Turns out they get along great now and probably like each other more than they like me! I realized I was in love with him when he got a job out of town. He was worth the effort of working through the hardship of being apart. He proposed to me at the Barron Canyon in Algonquin Park.

She’s always thinking of me and taking care of me. Pouring me the first cup of coffee in the morning, cooking my favourite meals, trying new things that she may not be interested in but knows I want to try, always being a good listener and caring about the things that I do simply because it’s something I like to do, sitting in the tree stand during deer season to keep me company even though she doesn’t hunt. She does it all with that beautiful smile on her face.

I love that Neil is such a straightforward guy. What you see is what you get. I can always go to him for questions, advice, an opinion, and be sure that his answer is the truth and not just what i want to hear. Because he doesn’t sugar coat things he can come off as harsh to people who don’t know him, but to me he is the sweetest most kind and thoughtful man I know. I can always count on him, he’s my rock!
