Small, Intimate Wedding at Le Belvedere in Wakefield, Quebec
My second wedding of the year had me cruising the dirt roads to the village of Wakefield, Quebec in a torrential downpour. I wasn’t too concerned because I LOVE shooting weddings on stormy days and I was heading to Le Belvedere! Le Belvedere is one of the top wedding venues in the Ottawa and such a pleasure to shoot at.
When I arrived at the Wakefield Grand, Olivia & Daniel’s friends and family were busy arranging freshly picked wildflowers (that they gathered themselves) into vases and jars. They were all pretty relaxed and happily chatting away. Olivia’s mom added some black-eyed Susans to the wedding cake and even did up the boutonniere & bouquet for the happy couple!
Dan proposed on my 30th birthday in our living room over sushi and a Basque cider we had brought back from San Sebastian. He had printed out photos from across our relationship and then at the end proposed.

When everyone was all dressed up and ready, we headed over to Le Belvedere for the intimate cliff-side ceremony.
Olivia & Daniel wrote their own vows and they were seriously the best vows I’ve ever heard! Well spoken, heartfelt, honest and filled with so much love and emotion. Way to go guys…they had everyone wiping away tears, including me and Gord Marriage, the officiant.
Cheers to Olivia & Daniel. Although it wasn’t the big wedding you planned, you guys rocked your pandemic wedding!
