Julie & Elliot’s Country Engagement Photos at Lottes Homestead Garden
Photographing Julie and Elliot’s country engagement photos was more than just another day behind the camera—it was personal. Elliot isn’t just any groom-to-be; he’s my cousin, and seeing him find his perfect match in Julie has been an incredible journey to witness. When they decided to have their engagement session at Lottes Homestead Garden, it felt like everything had come full circle—capturing love in a place that means so much to both them and me.
Their Love Story: A Tradition in the Making
Julie and Elliot’s story began with a classic friends-of-friends connection. Elliot was friends with Julie’s sister’s boyfriend, and as fate would have it, they were both invited to a game night. From there, their connection was instant, and as they say, the rest is history!
Elliot knew he wanted to propose in a way that was meaningful and special to them both. On December 23, 2023, he got down on one knee at Alight at Night at Upper Canada Village—a tradition they’ve cherished every year since they met in 2018. Proposing in front of the church, their favorite spot in the village, added an extra layer of significance to the moment. It’s a place they’ve visited every year, and now, it’s a part of their love story forever.
The Session: Cozy, Fun, and Full of Love
Julie and Elliot’s engagement session at Lottes Homestead Garden was everything I hoped it would be. The garden was in full bloom, providing the perfect mix of moody and natural vibes that I love to capture. We spent the afternoon wandering through the garden’s pathways, with the soft light filtering through the trees, creating a dreamy backdrop that highlighted their connection.
One of the best parts of the session was how relaxed and fun it was—just like Julie and Elliot. Their hobbies and love for adventure came through in every shot. Whether they were laughing together or sharing a quiet moment, their bond was undeniable.
Hobbies & Fun: Living Life to the Fullest
Julie and Elliot are the kind of couple who make the most out of life. They love playing video games together, camping with family, and taking long scenic drives—always up for a new adventure. When they’re not outdoors, they enjoy cozy nights around the fire, snowmobiling, and catching the latest movies. And let’s not forget their occasional date nights at their favorite spot—Lonestar!
A Personal Touch: Photographing Family
This session wasn’t just about capturing two people in love; it was about celebrating family and the traditions that bring us together. As Elliot’s cousin, I’ve seen him grow and experience so much, and it’s a true honor to document this new chapter in his life. Lottes Homestead Garden has always been a place of peace and beauty for me, and seeing it become part of their love story made this session all the more special. Our garden provided the ideal backdrop for these country engagement photos, with its natural beauty and personal history.
